Modroc castings of our faces

It was so fun casting faces in our 3D class, to do this we first wrapped our models in cling film, in 5/6 separate pieces, after this the small strips of modroc we cut up before starting, were dripped in water, any excess water was scrapped off and then applied to the models face, after we had covered the face, leaving the nostrils free so the model can breathe, we left the modroc to set, which didn't take long. Once this was done, we carefully removed the mask from the models face and the casting was complete!
Making a modroc mould or cast of small objects presents no significant risk. A mould of the palm of the hand, for example, could be made by using the modroc, from this, the hand could easily be removed as the plaster becomes hot and starts to harden. The hand should be washed with soapy water soon afterwards.
