For my first idea I wanted to create a short story, with the play on words of the film the perks of being a Wallflower. To do this I will look into the plot of the story, how I can recreate it using inanimate objects.
I and going to use a Cauliflower as the main character, and broccoli as the other characters, I will create a 5 cell storyboard in illustrator, I will uses different techniques to create my characters and experiment with plasticine models and photography that I will later superimpose onto adobe photo shop and edit them on there. I will also experiment with my own illustrations. Using a range of multi media techniques I hope it will give me a better idea on what techniques I want to use on my final piece.

My research into toads and the way they live.
What I plan to do today- Alice in wonderland
I this week I intend to continue to further my collection of roses that I will use on the head of one of my designs, I am continuing this again this week and last week I only had the opportunity to use the hot glue gun, but this week I am going to look at flowers/roses that I can sew, this may be a little bit more time consuming than the glue gun roses but I want to see what the differences are, the quality of the flowers and the style, this will aid me to create my final design as I will know what I am capable of and what works well.

Character design.
Today we started off doing quick drawings of our given characters, then at the end we did a longer illustration, throughout the week I will research how toads move/act and this will help me devolop my character analysis.
Alice in wonderland experiments
Today I have experimented with making roses, I did this because the design I produced of the queen of hearts contained a head ful of roses, and I want to experiment using all the techniques I used in my textiles GCSE, I will experiment at home all the other methods I know of how to make them.

Illustration research- Making inanimate objects, animate!
I have been looking in to films where objects that in everyday life have a purpose but no life, e.g a spoon or a sock, here are some popular films that have done just that, in such a creative way, that makes you forget, that these are actually just everyday items that have been brought to life...
The 'iconic' dinner set that features in the unowned disneys Beauty and the beast, the playful characters move in such a human way that makes their characters so lifelike.
Toy story is another great example of how Pixar brought these inanimate toys to life.
The gingerbread man who features in the Shrek series of films, again, food that moves in such a humanly way, you forget that it itself in real life is lifeless.

I also looked at the film Gnomeo and Juliet, I really like the play on words in the film title so I looked into some popular film titles that are widely recognisable, where things such as food can be replaced in the title, this could be a start to find my story line for the story o will produce...
-The nightmare before Christmas dinner
-Planet of the Grapes
-Forest rump
-The perks of being a Cauliflower
