What I produced in my Alice in Wonderland design ideas.

Following on from my previous post, thisis what I then produced using scarp fabric.

Alice in Wonderland- What I need for next week

I produced some ideas on paper, and then started to run dry with drawing ideas, so i decided to get physical with my designs, I used pieces of scrap fabric, on a plastic head, to shape the fabric, throughout the week I am going to collate pieces of scrap fabric, that I can then next week, produce another rough idea with it being less 2 dimensional.

What next- Alice in Wonderland

I am going to create, 20 ideas, thoughts and designs for what will eventually become the final outcome of my Alice in Wonderland project, I'm going to base them around the characters. I started this in half term and I will carry on throughout this lesson.

Final piece for Vortasim and Futurism work.

I used the position of one of the drawing I had done a previous week in life drawing for my final piece, I then redrew it in sharpies, so I could get a hang of the measurements and position of the body again.

This is my final outcome for this project, the colours I have used relate back to the work of other futurism artists, the shapes look like those of Andrew Chambers, his work heavily influenced mine. I am really happy with how this turned out, because before I was unable to grasp how to redraw the body in a futurist way, but doing it in steps like this aloud me to create the look I wanted.

Peace room project overview

We started this project looking at macro lens images, and breaking them down into shapes, as the brief stated the final piece could not represent anything, I created these two in chalk pastel, one of a flower and the other of a boat.

We then used finger painting as a technique, as this would help us get the rapid/abstract look we were looking for, this also created a really good texture for the paint, as it became thick, you could see the groves of our finger in the painting.

I then looked at the work of Wassily Kandinsky, the shapes he used intrigued me, the circular images reminded me of almost cells you would see under a microscope, everyone i asked had a different opinion of what they thought the circles were, i think this was good because it meant that everyone looking at it would have an individual interpretation of them.

I then experimented with these circular shapes creating my own, after a few experiments, I decided to condense six designs down to a medium sized canvas, meaning I could give each 'cell' immense detail.

This is what the final canvas looks like, this will hang in the colleges peace room, I am very happy with the final outcome, it shows a clear reference to an artist, I like how it looks from a distance and up close, the detail and ridges in the paint make it look different from every angle.

Trip to Liverpool 2015- Crosby Beach

Although it was freezing cold, everyone was exhausted and ready to go home, I enjoyed the beach the most, it was really strange to see these metal men scattered along the sea front, you could see a clear difference between the statues that spent little time in the water to the ones that spent almost all. The men were a lot bigger than i thought they would be, but from a distance, look like regular men staring into the ocean.

Trip to Liverpool 2015- the Bluecoat Centre and The Tate Liverpool.

I didn't take any pictures inside the Bluecoat centre, as we didn't spend a lot of time there, but there was one piece of art that I thought was really clever, it was in a dark room, there was a box in the corner, there was loud music playing from within the box, flashing lights, laughing and cheering could be heard from outside the box, as if there was a party going on inside the box, when you tried to enter, it was clear there was no form of entry, it was the party you were never invited to. id like to go back to the Blue coat centre and have a longer look around at all of the artwork.

The next gallery we went to was the Tate, we spent the most time here and I really enjoyed this one, i had been to the Tate Liverpool a couple of years ago, but there was a lot of new art to go and see.

The work was really inspirational, I will use the work I have seen, like Bomberg's painting ju-jitsu in my Vortasism and Futurism 3D project. It was nice to see this painting in real life, because you could clearly see the brushstrokes that you cant see from an image of the painting on the internet. There was a really wide variety of work at the Tate, and I hope I will return again.

Whilst at the Tate me and a few other friends paid to enter the Transmitting:Andy Warhol exhibition. It was really good in this part of the Gallery, again like Bombergs painting, It was very strange to see them in real life, you could see the lines and colour differences in the screen prints, it was a really good experience to see such iconic pieces of work for myself. There was also a room, with projections on the walls of people dancing, with loud music playing the velvet underground, if I return and there is another 'paid for' exhibition, I will definitely go and have a look, because this was in my opinion the best part of the Tate.
