Illustration research- Making inanimate objects, animate!

I have been looking in to films where objects that in everyday life have a purpose but no life, e.g a spoon or a sock, here are some popular films that have done just that, in such a creative way, that makes you forget, that these are actually just everyday items that have been brought to life...
The 'iconic' dinner set that features in the unowned disneys Beauty and the beast, the playful characters move in such a human way that makes their characters so lifelike.
Toy story is another great example of how Pixar brought these inanimate toys to life.
The gingerbread man who features in the Shrek series of films, again, food that moves in such a humanly way, you forget that it itself in real life is lifeless.

I also looked at the film Gnomeo and Juliet, I really like the play on words in the film title so I looked into some popular film titles that are widely recognisable, where things such as food can be replaced in the title, this could be a start to find my story line for the story o will produce...
-The nightmare before Christmas dinner
-Planet of the Grapes
-Forest rump
-The perks of being a Cauliflower
